Transformers [26 Jun 2007|05:44pm]
I saw the new Transformers movie last night. I wasn't really that excited about seeing it, but when I heard it was playing, I really wanted to see it. Like I said, I wasn't into seeing it before and was really skeptical because I loved them so much as a kid and didn't think the movie would be any good. I was totally wrong.

It was one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time.

Plus, it was free. That always helps.

Horrible News [31 May 2006|10:08pm]
Since I'm in a slow part of the world, huge news travels slowly. But, I'm shocked and saddened to hear of this death. I don't think I'm gonna get over this one.

The Miz is gone.

Who is gonna teach people the Masse now?

He's dead and there's nothing you can do about it.

This week marked the anniversery of the death of one of these guys, but I'm not sure which one. I'm gonna have to ask Jim's friend. She's like Joe Pedicino. She knows.

I saw this guy on television last night [08 Dec 2005|11:30am]
If you were a black, would you really name your kid this?

If you do, you're just opening him up to this mistake.

If you happened to be watching that, and you called in or something, would it be wrong to say "hey Nigger" to him?

I'd like everyone to take a minute out of their day and join me in sending birthday wishes to peteyhuck. His current whereabouts are unknown, but the Cause hasn't died.

Wrestling, Greece, etc. [19 Sep 2005|03:39pm]
I went to the Hardcore Homecoming shows over the weekend. Although I've lost a lot of interest in wrestling over the past 4 years or so, these shows were fun (notwithstanding the poor matches). I saw some people I haven't seen for years, which was nice. I also did photographs at ringside, which did make the event much more enjoyable and did make the matches easier to get into as well. I really don't dislike wrestling itself, it's the fanbase and many of the people associated with it that I don't like. Everything changes though, so you just have to get used to fans having to be a part of every event and wrestlers getting trained that are smaller than me. But, I did have fun and it did remind me faintly of some of the better times I had as a wrestling fan some 7 or 8 years ago.

I still am missing being in Greece very much this time, I must say. It's been tough being home and I think I've been a little detatched from people because I'm here, but my mind is definitely somewhere else.

That being said, here are a few of my pictures from the island of Delos. One of the most interesting places I've been, ever. It's a deserted island with only 2 or 3 small buildings housing the museum, cafe and utilities. The rest of the island consists of ruins.

Naxos [04 Sep 2005|06:34pm]
I was gonna put up a few pictures from the summer and just never got around to it (well except for the ones with girls dancing on the bar while I was drinking my beer). So here are a few others from Naxos. I'll put up Delos and Mykonos in other posts in case you don't feel like looking at them, you can just skip over them.

I really liked Naxos though, and I hope to visit some more islands in the Kyklades.

Here is Naxos from afar.

The rest of the photos are under this cut. Might be bad if you're using dial-up.

I've decided to stay here in Greece for another 2 weeks. I was having trouble coming to terms with leaving this time...trouble leaving my girlfriend and the dog. Actually, as hard as it was to leave Faye, it's harder to leave the dog. I've had a really nice summer and it's really starting to feel like home here. It just sucks trying to find a parking space here...I thought Pittsburgh, namely Oakland and the South Side were bad for parking, but they don't comare to Thessaloniki at all. I drove around for 30 minutes the other night, 15 today, etc. looking for a damn parking space. The people drive like assholes too. I can't complain though. I did really want to see krac, but I think I'll be home until at least Christmas this time, so maybe I'll be able to have a Chicago. I've got a wedding to go to today...I won't cry at it like suicideking might be prone to do.

There's my dad and the Seat. The picture is from the Tribune Review. Thanks to Wood for alerting me to this.

He'll be autographing copies of it for $10.00.

Pack a Lunch

[18 Aug 2005|04:21pm]
Yesterday my mother called me from America and was just talking to me when she said, hey, I think your dad is on tv. I said "for what?"...so she put the phone up to the tv and we listened to my dad talk about how he got flooded. I think the sadness and pain in the assness of being flooded was secondary to being on tv. I could tell he was thrilled to be on tv. So I called him later and he didn't even seem pissed, he just kept telling me how people from Channel 4, 11 and KDKA have been in the shop all day. My mom taped it for me, I'm looking forward to seeing it. If you know my dad, then you know it should be good.

Anyways, his business was flooded, which I do feel bad about. He's trying to open again today, don't know if he will. I know the first question everyone wants to ask is "Is the Seat ok?" Yes, the Seat did survive with flying colors.

Got back yesterday from Crete. We ended up going to Naxos for a week too. When we were there, I took a ship to Delos and Mykonos, which were both great. I always wanted to go to Dilos, and it was really worth the trip. I will post a few pictures from everywhere in the next few days, but for now, maybe these pictures are more interesting than pictures of ancient ruins or Greek island architecture.

I'm leaving for Chania soon. I'll be there for a few weeks...should be pretty nice. We're staying with Faye's sister and all of her cats and dogs. Too bad I think I'm getting sick. Oh well...it's for the birds.

So many in Britain (not to mention the US and many other countries) said how the Olympics were going to be a disaster in Athens because of lackluster security...then a day after they announce that London will host them in 2012, 74 bombs go off.

I still love all these people that say we're winning the war against terrorism. When they want to do something somewhere, they will. It's not really a war that can be won, but if they want to do something (whoever they may be), they pretty much can. No great strides have been made against these attack methods. So next time Bush and Condeleeza tell you how safe you are, get out your old pair of pants and go shit yourself till your heart is content.

And while on the subject of the government, how about spending less time prosecuting downloaders and more time doing something against spyware. I had this goddamn Aurora spyware on my computer for like 2 months and couldn't get rid of it and I finally did today. It was a pain in the ass...how about doing something against these people instead of prosecuting the dangerous 12 old girls downloading Lars Ulrich's shitty new songs.

I'll try to be less of a curmudgeon next time.

I was watching the news here yesterday, and they talked about July 4th celebrations in the US. For some reason, the only city they talked about and showed footage from was Pittsburgh. The closest thing I've ever seen to Pittsburgh on the news here was when that pizza delivery driver was blown up a few years ago. Or did they just shoot him. I think he blew up from a bomb, I can't remember.

Boredom for hunger [04 Jul 2005|04:31pm]
I sat here and watched that Live 8 concert last night. What a boring waste of a few hours of my life. The only band I really wanted to see was Pink Floyd. It was pretty exciting to me to see all four of them on a stage again, as I never thought it would happen. But they showed a grand total of 3 songs from them here. I really hope they tour again, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. Anyways, luckily they followed Pink Floyd with Faith Hill in Rome. Why even put someone like that on the bill? Then they followed that up with the Black Eyed Peas. Again, why even put someone like that on the bill? What a shitty band. I saw all kinds of bands that are supposed to be important like U2. Well, guess what...they're not important, nor was this concert. Things that are supposed to be important never are. When people keep telling you that it's important and you should care, you never end up doing so. Oh well, maybe some Authentics will get a stale hot dog bun out of it or something.
